Screen Flavia de Laubadère x Paelis

A meeting of two materials, held between tension and subtlety
The formal concept was imagined by Flavia de Laubadère, then developed by the atelier through extensive research, refinement and composition. The balance between straw and bamboo, the construction of the pattern, its scale and the overall project direction gave the piece its coherence and presence. Developed around the reflections of light on pale bamboo leaves in the chiaroscuro of a full moon night, the motif unfolds a subtle visual language shaped by depth, softness and tension.
Technical research in service of a new visual language
At that time, when Manon Bouvier-Toth was still working alone within the atelier, a specific technique was developed to make bamboo leaf suitable for marquetry and allow it to fully enter the field of marquetry. This research opened new possibilities of expression, where material becomes surface, vibration and light. This screen embodies a work in which technical research, decorative precision and mastery of gesture come together in a deeply contemporary expression.
