SiO VI – Clémence Rotureau x Paelis
The dialogue between Clémence Rotureau and Paelis was built around the notions of identity, belonging and collective projection. At the heart of this reflection lies a shared desire to imagine the future of fine craftsmanship and to question its forms, languages and symbols.

Rye straw, concrete
A wall sculpture as a form of assertion
From this exploration emerged the sixth and final piece of the SiO collection. Inspired by figures such as the totem, the mask and the breastplate, it draws on forms associated with protection, presence and the affirmation of a group. The composition of geometric forms captures the eye through its scale, rhythm and the way it holds the light.
Between straw and concrete, a distinctly contemporary language
From the centre of the piece, light reveals the volumes and heightens the tension between rye straw and concrete, two materials that may seem opposed, yet become deeply complementary in expression. As the final work in the SiOcollection, this creation powerfully affirms the world of Paelis and opens a reflection on what straw marquetry and fine craftsmanship can become when they allow themselves new territories.
